Negative SLP anomaly was observed in most parts of the Maritime Continent (MC) while a positive SLP anomaly was observed in the North-Central Philippines, Northern Vietnam and some areas in Lao and Myanmar for the month of May.

Easterly to Northeasterly wind anomalies dominated the North and Central part of the SEA region while most parts of the MC while westerly to northwesterly wind anomalies dominate the western and the southern of the region for the month of May.
