March 2025 Rainfall (CPC-NOAA) Analysis

In March 2025, positive rainfall anomalies were observed across much of the Maritime Continent. Notably wet conditions occurred over parts of the Philippines—especially in northern Luzon and portions of Mindanao—as well as over central and southern Indonesia, including Kalimantan, Java, and southern Sumatra. Brunei Darussalam and surrounding areas also experienced above-normal rainfall, along with parts of Papua.

Conversely, some localized areas experienced below-normal rainfall, including northern Sulawesi, parts of central Borneo, and scattered regions in southern Thailand and western Indonesia. Slight negative anomalies were also recorded in parts of southern Vietnam and the southeastern coasts of Thailand and Malaysia.

Elsewhere, no significant rainfall anomalies were noted in March 2025.

The maps on the right (top to bottom) indicate the observed rainfall for March 2025, along with the climatological normal from 1991 to 2020, providing context for the anomaly map on the left.
