Tropical Storm Pulasan, also known as Helen in the Philippines, was a notable cyclone of the 2024 season, forming near the Mariana Islands on September 15 and impacting areas including the Philippines, East China, Japan, and South Korea. It developed into a tropical depression before intensifying into a tropical storm and eventually reaching its peak intensity with winds of 85 km/h (50 mph). It traversed near the Philippines without making direct landfall; still, it brought strong winds and heavy rainfall to parts of the country. Pulasan then crossed over to East China, making landfall near Shanghai, and later affected South Korea before transitioning into an extratropical cyclone.
