On October 23, a low-pressure area was develop into tropical depression east of southern Philippines in northwestward direction. On the next day it upgraded to tropical storm and named "Molave". On October 25 Quinta intensified into severe tropical storm as it nears the east of central Philippines. On the same day, Molave continued to intensify to typhoon category and made its first landfall. Molave made several landfalls over the landmass of Luzon and going towards the west Philippine sea on October 26. The next day, Molave exited the Philippine area of responsibility. As it goes towards Vietnam it weakened and when it made its landfall it dissipated on October 29.
