Last Jun 24, 2019, a low pressure area east of the Philippines formed into a tropical depression. The TD moved north northeast while gaining strength. On June 27, 2019, It gained enough strength and was upgraded as a tropical storm with maximum sustained wind of 40 kts. It was named "Sepat" by JMA. It continued to move towards Japan. The next day, it was recognized as an extra tropical storm while re-curving east towards the Bering Sea.
