On December 20, 2017, a tropical depression was formed east of southern Philippines and was called Vinta. By the following day December 21, the depression intensified and became a tropical storm. While traversing the southern Philippines in westerly direction, tropical storm Vinta intensified into a severe tropical storm on early morning of December 23. And by the afternoon of December 25, STS Vinta weakens into a tropical storm before it exits the Philippine area of responsibility. On December 26 it continues to weaken into a tropical depression when it enters Vietnam and dissipated on the same day.
