The LPA located east of central Philippines was upgraded into a tropical depression “Damrey” by JMA on October 31, 2017. It made multiple landfalls on islands in the Central Philippines. By November 2, it intensified further until it reached its maximum sustained wind of 70 kts and was then promoted to Typhoon Damrey. It continued to move westward and made a landfall in Vietnam on November 4. It weakened then dissipated on the same day.
