In February 2025, the CPC Leaky Bucket Soil Moisture Model captured an increase of soil moisture percentage over the Philippines, most of Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, central and southern Vietnam, eastern sections of Laos and Cambodia, and Southern Myanmar and Thailand. In contrast, a decrease in soil moisture percentage was observed in the remaining areas of the region.
