In December 2025, westerly wind anomalies dominated most parts of the Mainland SEA region, the western sections of Indonesia and the South Chian Sea (SCS) while easterly wind anomalies were observed over the Philippines and the rest of Indonesia. Moreover, two cyclonic wind patterns where observed over the Philippine Sea and near Sumatra in Indonesia.
