In April 2026, rainfall across Southeast Asia showed a mix of conditions. Below-normal rainfall was observed over most of the Philippines, Cambodia, Southern Thailand, Borneo, Suwalesi, Brunei Darussalam and some areas in Malaysia. This indicates a drier-than-usual condition for this month.
Conversely, patches of above-normal rainfall occurred in some areas over Southern Malaysia, Singapore, and some areas in Indonesia (some parts of Sumatra, southern Kalimantan, Java and Papua) experienced above-normal conditions.
The maps on the right show the total observed rainfall (top) and the 1991–2020 historical average (middle). These provide the context for the anomaly map on the left, which highlights exactly where the rainfall deviated from the long-term norm.
