In March 2026, rainfall anomalies over Southeast Asia were generally below normal with patches of above normal across much of the region. Below normal rainfall was observed Thailand, Mainland Malaysia, large parts of Indonesia (including, Sumatra, Kalimantan and eastern Indonesia), and portions of Lao PDR, Vietnam and the Philippines, reflecting relatively drier conditions in these areas.

Meanwhile, patches of above normal rainfall conditions were recorded in localized areas, notably over parts of Myanmar and Indonesia, reflecting wetter conditions in these areas.
