In April 2026, above normal surface temperatures were observed across much of Southeast Asia. Slightly Warmer to Warmer-than-normal conditions were particularly evident over most of Mainland Sea, some areas in Indonesia, Borneo and the Philippines. While slightly cooler-than average surface temperature where observed over some areas in Myanmar and Indonesia.

Elsewhere, surface temperature anomalies were generally near normal, with no significant or widespread areas of below normal temperatures observed across the region.
