In December 2025, above normal surface temperatures were observed across much of Southeast Asia. Warmer-than-normal conditions were particularly evident over northern Myanmar, Lao PDR, Viet Nam, and parts of Thailand and Cambodia, as well as over Borneo and western to southern Indonesia. Portions of the Philippines also experienced slightly warmer-than-average surface temperatures during the month.

Elsewhere, surface temperature anomalies were generally near normal, with no significant or widespread areas of below normal temperatures observed across the region.
